MILMED COE visit to Belgrade
The NATO Military Liaison Office (MLO) in Serbia welcomed the Director of Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) in a visit to Belgrade on 01-02 March 2017. After talks with the Chief MLO, Brigadier General Cesare Marinelli (ITA), Colonel Fazekas briefed the Surgeon General and Representatives of the Medical Service and the International Military Cooperation Department of the Serbian Ministry of Defence about the COE's activities and projects in order to foster closer cooperation between the organizations.
Hamburg Staff College visit
A delegation from the German Armed Forces Staff College from Hamburg paid a visit to the Hungarian Defence Forces Medical Centre on 16 February 2017. During the visit the delegation had the chance to get an overview about the sturcture and activites of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) by the Deputy Director, Colonel Dr. Salvatore Schmidt (DEU). The delegation was led by Colonel Dr. Rolf von Uslar who was previously the German member of the COE's Steering Committee.
MILMED COE briefing at Conference of National Armaments Directors
The Conference of National Armaments Directors (CNAD) took place on 30 January 2017 in Brussels, where top national defence procurement officials from NATO and partner countries met to discuss and promote interoperability in the armaments field. The CNAD is the senior NATO committee with the mission to enable multinational cooperation on delivery of interoperable military capabilities to improve NATO forces’ effectiveness and to promote transatlantic defence industrial cooperation. The CNAD reports directly to the North Atlantic Council. At the conference the participants were briefed by, among others, the Director of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE), Colonel Dr. László Fazekas (HUN) and they exchanged points of view and discussed the opportunities for closer collaboration with the NATO Centres of Excellence (COEs). The CNAD was chaired by Mr. Ernest J. Herold, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment.
