16th SC meeting in Budapest
The 16th Steering Committee (SC) meeting of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) took place on 28-30 November 2016 in Budapest, Hungary. MILMED COE Sponsoring Nations' (SN) representatives from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania and the United Kingdom of Great Britain participated at the event.
Ambassador of Romania visit
The Ambassador of Romania to Hungary, HE Mr. Marius Gabriel Lazurca accompanied by the Defense Attaché, Colonel Savu Toma visited the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) in Budapest.
The aim of the visit was to discuss possibilites to extend the scope of cooperation between Romania and the Centre. The guests were briefed by the Director of MILMED COE, COL Dr. László Fazekas (HUN) and by the respective medical branch heads.
COL Fazekas commended Romania as Steering Nation for its contributions to the Centre, while HE Mr. Lazurca reaffirmed Romania's continuous support to MILMED COE.
Ambassador of Chile visit
The Ambassador of Chile to Hungary, HE Mrs. Verónica Chahin has recently paid an official visit to the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) in Budapest.
The aim of the visit was to get familiar with the Centre and to discuss further possibilites for cooperation between Chile as potential partner nation and the Centre. The Ambassador was received by the Director of MILMED COE, COL Dr. László Fazekas (HUN).
As result of the visit MILMED COE initiated participation of Chilean students on individual training opportunities provided by the Centre to NATO partners in 2016 and 2017.
