Course description

MED-MS-31669 NATO Health Surveillance and Multinational Management of Epidemic Crisis for Operational and Strategic Medical Leaders (DHS Level 1 Course)

This course is suitable for personnel working in CJMED roles, and a wider audience of medical and non-medical personnel. Using role-play, group discussion work, and simulation, participants develop the skills to coordinate the tactical level response to an epidemic of infectious disease occurring in a multinational deployment. The course is delivered by the French Armed Forces Centre for Epidemiology and Public Health (CESPA) at their facility in Marseille, France.

MED-MS-42191 NATO Health Epidemic Investigation and Management in Deployments (HEIMDAL Course)

This course is also delivered by CESPA and is particularly suitable for personnel who will work in CJMED roles and uses similar learning methods to MED-MS-31669. The difference is that participants gain skills in coordinating the response to outbreaks at the operational and strategic level. The course also gives practical experience in briefing a Commander and speaking to the media.
