AIMThe course is designed to teach participants how to respond to and treat medical emergencies involving radiation exposure(s), best-practices for PPE, risk assessment, public health, contamination avoidance, and how to improve the treatment and care of the injured.
TRAINING AUDIENCE
OR5 till OF6, with background in medical/nuclear or civilian emergency preparedness and response equivalent. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Course Director. 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LO 1. Prepare, organize, and conduct the treatment and care of radiation injuries and illnesses caused by radiological or nuclear accidents, incidents, or terrorist attacks.
LO 2. Protect medical personnel involved in treating radiation injuries using personnel protective equipment and best practices for contamination control / management.
LO 3. Diminish the spread of radioactive contamination during patient transport and treatment.

PREREQUISITE
Participants should have a medical and / or an emergency management background and understanding of basic nuclear/radiation medical principles.
Lecture classroom(s) and or a medical facility.

METHODOLOGYInteractive lectures, syndicate activities, practical hands-on training, and various case studies.
LANGUAGELanguage Proficiency: English 2222 IAW, STANAG 6001
ATTENDANCECourse participants are expected to attend all course activities as the intense program does not allow for absences during the course. Late arrivals or early departures cannot be accepted.
REGISTRATIONOnline registration, not later than 4 weeks prior to the course. Minimum number of students for course conduct is 15, with the maximum of 30.
COURSE FEENone. Participants must pay their own travel arrangements/transports, lodging and food costs. 
CANCELLATIONCancellation of participation can be accepted not later than 3 weeks prior to the course.
