AIMTo brief the target audience on the current and future surveillance systems used on all NATO operations.
TRAINING AUDIENCE
The course is offered to medical and health services personnel assigned or potentially deploying to NATO Command Structures, NATO Force Structures, or Multinational Operations. 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LO 1 understand the general concepts of health surveillance
LO 2 use the EpiNATO-2 system in MTF Role 1
LO 3 understand and realize the first five steps of an outbreak/epidemic investigation
LO 4 manage with a team the first five steps of an outbreak or epidemic crisis in NATO multinational context

PREREQUISITE

An E-learning package on ADL 366 NATO Health Surveillance Reporting and DHS Level 1 course (open 4 weeks before residential course) is hosted on the NATO JADL platform. It provides familiarization with the NATO health surveillance system and current reporting requirements. Successful completion is mandatory for all participants in advance to the course. The e-learning can be accessed via JADL at: https://jadl.act.nato.int/

METHODOLOGY
Case studies, classroom presentations, group discussion work, and simulation exercises.
LANGUAGEEnglish
ATTENDANCEParticipants are expected to attend all course activities as the intense programme does not allow for absences during the course. Late arrivals or early departures cannot be accepted.
Certificate for successful completion shall not be awarded where absences are recorded.

REGISTRATIONMandatory online registration should be completed as soon as possible, but no later than 2 weeks prior to the course.
The required minimum for course is 12 participants, with a maximum of 20 participants.

COURSE FEEFor sponsoring nations: 310 Euros
For non-sponsoring nations: 450 Euros
All incurring costs, such as travel, accommodation, and meals, are to be borne by participants.
This course is also available via the NATO ePRIME system; students from NATO partner nations can get reimbursed up to 100%.

CANCELLATION
Cancellation of participation is only possible with 3-weeks’ notice before the start date of the course. The entire course fee is due if participation is cancelled within 3 weeks.
