Major Incident Medical Management and Support (MIMMS) Course, Budapest, Hungary

This certified three-day course is delivered by experienced Subject Matter Experts and teaches a systematic approach to the medical management of major incidents in accordance with Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) guidance. As the only international standard in major incident medical management, the course is taught and the principles are practiced throughout the world, and they are routinely integrated into civilian and military medical practice.

NATO recognized the benefit of applying the approach taught in the MIMMS course and made it mandatory for all medical personnel deployed to a NATO operation in ACO Directive 83-1. The MIMMS course is a true partnership between military and civilian experts having the benefit in case of an Article V. scenario when Civil – Military cooperation is inevitable.

This 40-hours training includes a pre-course learning element, short lectures, table-top exercises, skill stations such as preparation, communications/ radio procedures, command and control and triage. The training also covers practical exercises without casualties while working in groups at an incident location and concludes with a Hospital Exercise (HOSPEX) and an Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE).
