From 14 to 27 June 2027, Suffield, Canada, will host CLEAN CARE 2027, a major NATO live exercise designed to strengthen the Alliance’s ability to provide effective medical support in a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) environment.
The operational environment is changing quickly, and military medicine has to change with it. New technologies are appearing on the battlefield, evacuation may take longer than expected, and medical personnel have to provide care in increasingly difficult conditions. These challenges were among the main topics of the NATO MILMED COE's Medical Innovation Workshop, held in Budapest from 1 to 3 September 2026.
Be part of a dynamic forum shaping the future of military medicine. The NATO Medical Innovation Workshop 2026 (IWS26) will take place from 01–03 September 2026 in Budapest, Hungary, hosted at the Bálna Defence Centre, with both in-person and virtual participation options available.
The NATO-accredited Centres of Excellence community once again gathered at NATO Headquarters between 12–13 May 2026 for the annual NATO COE Marketplace, an event that has, over recent years, evolved into one of the Alliance’s most important professional platforms for innovation, transformation, and capability development.
The strategic cooperation between the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine and Semmelweis University reached another significant milestone in 2026, as the NATO Emergency Management of Battlefield Injuries (EMBI) Course was jointly delivered for the third consecutive year between 4 and 8 May 2026 in Budapest.
The Szerencsi SzC Kossuth Lajos Technical School in Sátoraljaújhely, with the support of the National Defence Sports Association, organized the Cadet Healthcare Competition for the third time on Friday, May 24, with the central theme of which this year was again the treatment of battlefield injuries.
On 26–27 March 2026, the NATO MILMED COE once again participated in the Szakma Sztár Festival (Profession Star Festival), presenting its capabilities at the stand of the National Directorate General for Hospitals, following their invitation.
The NATO Military Global Health Engagement (MGHE) Course was conducted in Budapest from 23-27 February, under the umbrella of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE), in close collaboration with the UK Defence Medical Services Centre for Defence Engagement (CDE) and the Uniformed Services University’s National Institute for Defense Health Cooperation (NIDHC).
